COPY OF LETTER FROM THE LONDON METAL EXCHANGE TO CROWN AGENTS

2?

Gentlemen,

Whittington Avenue,

London, E. C. 3.

29th November, 1934.

END

Reverting to my letter of the 23rd instant, I have

to inform you that enquiries have been made in regard to Chinese

Tin. It is evident that complaints do exist as to discrepancies

between the Hong Kong Government's official analyses and those

made by other reputable assayers.

It may be explained that the usual procedure is to

buy this Tin in the East on the Hong Kong Government laboratory

assays which are final. This Tin is a good delivery on the

London Metal Exchange Contract provided approved English assayers

have found the contents not to be below 99 per cent; if the assay

should show less than 99 per cent the metal is not a good

delivery on the official contract and its disposal, therefore,

becomes a matter of negotiation.

I am, etc.

(Signed)

S.H. LAMBERT.

Secretary.
